Tiwani Contemporary is delighted to announce It's Personal, an exhibition of new sculptural works by Sokari Douglas Camp. Renowned for her towering steel sculptures, Douglas Camp draws upon her life in London and her Nigerian heritage - in particular her Kalabari roots - to inform her practice.
The exhibition presents a continuation of Douglas Camp's exploration of life, presented from a more intimate and biographical perspective. Personal and physical maturity are her points of departure. Her steel sculptures - metal, drawings, fusion of colour and found objects - are both an honest examination of emotional transition and a celebration of maturity, power and independence.
