We are delighted to share that the work 'How Does It Feel', 2023 by artist Miranda Forrester, has been selected for the Whitechapel Gallery Art Icon: Online Charity Auction.
Art Icon is an annual initiative led by the Whitechapel Gallery, which celebrates the work of an artist who has made a profound contribution to the artistic landscape and influenced a generation of artists. The 2024 Art Icon Award will be presented to Isaac Julien KBE RA.
Miranda Forrester explores the queer Black female gaze in painting to re-articulate the language and history of life drawing through a queer Black feminist and desiring lens.
